Meg Cashel is a Los Angeles-based actress and writer known for her emotionally rich and comedic performances in independent film, especially through acclaimed shorts featured on Omeleto. She co-wrote and starred in Together (2021), praised by Short of the Week as "terrific" and "incredibly good at handling neurotic comedic escalation." The film screened at the Florida and HollyShorts Film Festivals and was featured on Omeleto, Film Shortage, and Short of the Week.
Cashel's nuanced, relatable performances have also been highlighted in multiple shorts directed by Brett Cramer and other independent filmmakers, including It's Been Awhile (Omeleto, Short of the Week), Milo (Omeleto), The Eulogy (Omeleto), Samu (Austin Film Festival), Nicole (Florida Film Festival), and The Note (Omeleto).
She also starred in Unforgotten (Toronto Black Film Festival) and appeared in The Talk, directed by Hariharasudhen Nagarajan, both featured on Omeleto.
On television, Cashel appeared on CBS's The Neighborhood in the episode "Welcome to the Getaway," performing alongside Cedric the Entertainer, and recently wrapped production as the lead in the upcoming horror-comedy feature Feed FiFi, directed by Kay Tuxford - whose earlier film The MisEducation of Bindu was executive-produced by Mark and Jay Duplass.
Cashel was nominated for Best Actress by LA Theatre Bites for her performance in Three Exorcisms by Avery Deutsch. She was also Hedda in the Attic Collective's production of Hedda Gabler, named the Top of Fringe by The Hollywood Reporter, and appeared in Three Men Dressed as Joseph Stalin with Inkwell Theater and a reading of Swimming Pool at Echo Theater Company.
She is the co-founder of the production company Misunderstood Rooster - producing Anne & Jan, a proof-of-concept for a dark comedy television pilot she co-wrote and stars in alongside Alyssa Abraham.
