Biography

Yixing Zhang (also known as Lay) was born on October 7th, 1991. He is most famous for being one of the Main Dancers in the popular South Korean-Chinese band, EXO, and the Main Dancer in their sub-unit, EXO-M. Aside from singing and acting, he has further extended his activities to acting in few Chinese series, & now even playing a role in an English film with Jackie Chan, Kung Fu Yoga.

Within his popular band, EXO, Lay is one of the the Main Dancers. However, he additionally sings & has composed songs.

Zhang Yixing can play the piano and guitar by ear.

Zhang Yixing holds the Guinness World Record for the longest retractable LED scroll (110 meters) used in a solo concert, "Grandline 5 Monkey King Rocking the Heavenly Palace" concert held at the Beijing National Stadium (Bird's Nest) in 2025.

Zhang Yixing learned sign language to play a deaf father in the Chinese movie "Mumu" (2025). Additionally, he incorporated sign language into his Grandline 4 and Grandline 5 concert tours in China.
