Kulan Farah is an Australian actor, filmmaker, and singer working across stage, film, and television in Australia and the United States. Born in Melbourne and raised in Tasmania, he began performing in local theatre before undertaking advanced training in classical and contemporary acting, including Shakespeare with Patsy Rodenburg and improvisational comedy at The Groundlings. In 2019, he studied in New York with acclaimed acting coach Susan Batson. He holds a BA in Film & Television from Swinburne University.
In 2023, Farah moved to Los Angeles and now works across both the American and Australian markets. He gained early recognition through his work on stage, most notably as a lead actor in Daniel Nellor’s play "Ignis" in 2022 directed by Bronwen Coleman. The production ran for 24 consecutive performances, with two shows per night, highlighting Farah’s discipline, stamina, and commitment to craft.
Farah’s most significant work to date is his graduate short film Hakuumacaato, produced at Swinburne University, which he wrote, directed, and starred in. The film received international acclaim, winning Best Student Short Film at the WorldFest Houston International Film Festival, where it was awarded a Platinum Remi Award, among several other honors. The film later premiered in the US at the Los the Pan African Film Festival, in Los Angeles 2022, marking a major milestone in Farah’s career as both an actor and filmmaker. Alongside his screen and stage work, he is also a singer, bringing a musical sensibility to his performances. Known for his grounded presence combined with dangerous spontaneity. Kulan Farah continues to build a focused, international career across both stage, music and film/TV.
