Helen Lohmus

Producer, director Helen Lohmus was born in Estonia on 15 of August, 1981. Starting out her career in 2004 in television she moved to film production after serving as a production and costume designer for Russian Walt Disney Company's production of a high school drama After School, Dir. Oleg and Vladimir Presnyakov in 2012. Lõhmus served as producer and production designer for a Lao-Estonia-France co-production Dearest Sister, Dir. Mattie Do. The film was nominated for Oscars in 2017. Her documentary directorial debut, a cautionary tale of youth sports called Kelly - Someone Else's Dream, was released in the Spring of 2024 @ Hot Docs film festival. Helen is working on a number of drama series, including Von Fock, now in post-production, with a release date in spring of 2025, and Behind the Iron Curtain, the Most Promising Project award winner at Black Nights FF, TV Beats Co-Financing Market 2023.
