Theodore Rowan Salisbury is a British Hair, Make-Up and Prosthetics Designer whose work spans major studio productions, independent feature films, television and creature effects. Known for combining traditional craftsmanship with innovative prosthetic design, Theodore has built a reputation for creating memorable characters through practical effects, makeup artistry and prosthetic transformation.
After earning a Master’s degree in Prosthetics and Sculpting at Buckinghamshire New University, based at world renowned Pinewood Studios (CMS). Theodore has gone on to work across a wide range of internationally recognised productions. His credits include Dune and Dune: Part Two, where he was a Makeup & Prosthetics Artist for the Academy Award and BAFTA-nominated hair and makeup & prosthetics team. The Covenant, which won Best Film Makeup Saturn Award.
Theodore was presented a Guild Award by the British Designers Guild for FishBrain 2026, where he served as Creature Designer and Prosthetic Makeup Designer. His designer portfolio also includes other credits such as, Last Man Down (NETFLIX), Stand Your Ground (PARAMOUNT +), Goitaca, Follow the Dark, and numerous feature films and independent productions.
His achievements have also been recognised within the industry. Theodore is a Gold Award winner for Best New Business and a Bronze Award winner for Makeup Artist of the Year at the British Hair & Beauty Awards. He has also been nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award, Entrepreneur of the Year, and Creative Artist of the Year, reflecting both his artistic ability and his contribution to the industry.
Today, Theodore continues to design characters, prosthetics and creatures for international productions while developing original film projects through his own creative ventures. His passion lies in bringing extraordinary worlds and unforgettable characters to life through practical makeup effects, prosthetic artistry and cinematic storytelling.
