Biography

Alvin de Castro is an internationally recognized dancer & choreographer.

In 2010, a nationwide broadcast saw Alvin become the first "Top 100" contestant on So You Think You Can Dance to be offered the role of Choreographer whilst on the same season.

In 2014, Alvin saw himself as the lead choreographer for Hong Kong mega-star G.E.M. and her X.X.X Live World Tour. That same year, he also choreographed for Justice Crew's Australian Hype Tour.

Dancer credits include touring with Australian Idol Winner, Stan Walker and Dancing With The Stars Winner, Johnny Ruffo. Alvin has also danced on TV shows such as, X-Factor Australia, ABC's Dance Academy (coaching), MTV & Young Talent Time.

Other choreography credits include Vodafone, Mercedes Benz, G-Star Raw Denim, adidas Originals, Shell & Target for L'Oreal Fashion Week.

A graphic designer turned professional dancer & choreographer, Alvin's dance career began with a self taught background during his spare time. Formal training in commercial dance styles followed in Los Angeles and New York studios. Further training followed with a full-time dance scholarship at Patrick Studios Australia in 2007 training in all styles of dance.

Coming from a Hip-Hop dance crew background, Alvin is the founding director of two-time Australian National Hip Hop Champions, Beatphonik (Battlegrounds 2007 & AHC 2008). His background in both the dance crew scene and industry make him a favorable adjudicator in dance competitions around the world. With over 14 years teaching experience, Alvin is a highly sought after instructor at dance studios & conventions. Alvin is based in Australia.
