Josh Braunreuther is an Emmy-nominated Director of Photography with over a decade of experience in film and television. His career began as a photojournalist at WCIV in Charleston, SC, where he quickly gained recognition, winning several NPPA awards for his journalism.

In 2021, Josh served as Director of Photography for the feature-length documentary On the Way Home (2024), which premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival in 2024 and went on to win Best Cinematography at Doc LA and the Charles E. Guggenheim Emerging Artist Award at Full Frame Doc Fest that same year.

His contributions as a Camera Operator on acclaimed documentaries such as Icarus (2017) and The Dissident (2020) -the former winning an Academy Award and the latter a Writers Guild Award-further solidified his reputation as a rising talent in the industry.

Josh's commercial portfolio includes work with high-profile global brands such as BMW, GE, Marc Jacobs, and Veuve Clicquot, shooting campaigns worldwide.

In the narrative space, he contributed as a Camera Operator on Robbie Ain't Right No More (2023), which was featured at the Tribeca Film Festival, and served as 2nd Unit Director of Photography on The Manager Position (2022), which screened at the HollyShorts Film Festival.
