- A Tory Member of Parliament (and cabinet minister) who lost her seat in the General Election of July, 2024.
- A few weeks after losing her seat in Parliament during the 2024 General Election, she appeared on TV's "Have I Got News For You", where the question of the very large number of Tory MPs who had refused to stand in the election because they knew they would be defeated was raised. She implicitly criticized these former colleagues, saying "I don't believe in leaving a sinking ship". Very shortly afterwards, she defected from the Tories to the Reform Party.
- Notorious for having, with a straight face, described Boris Johnson as "one of our better Prime Ministers" when she appeared on the satirical news quiz "Have I Got News For You". She seemed genuinely surprised when many members of the audience booed her.
