  • Born in England, Monte Proser became the top press agent to the stars (Mary Pickford, Walt Disney, "Flo" Ziegfield) and a night club impresario who founded the storied ''Copacabana'' and ''Beachcombers''. Proser had five sons with actress and former Copacabana dancer, wife Jane Ball: Charles, William, Michael, James and Timothy.

    Monte also produced capsule versions of musicals in Las Vegas.

  • Singer Rudy Vallee operated a speakeasy on the subterranean level of the future Copacabana during the 1920s.
  • The Copacabana was finished with mob money supplied by infamous gangster Frank Costello of the Luciano crime family. Costello eventually gained full control of the club, through his front man, Jules Podell.
  • In 1958, Monte Proser produced Jayne Mansfield's striptease revue, "The Tropicana Holiday", at the Tropicana Las Vegas, which co-starred her husband, Mickey Hargitay.
