- Joy Ngiaw is an Emmy Award-winning composer celebrated for her emotionally rich and inventive scores. She won the Emmy for Outstanding Music Direction and Composition for an Animated Program for her work on WondLa (2024), the sci-fi adventure trilogy for Apple TV+, where she collaborated closely with industry titan John Lasseter (Toy Story (1995)). Her Annie-nominated score for the series was also featured in IndieWire's "Best TV Scores of the Year" alongside White Lotus and Severance. She also made history as the youngest composer to score a major studio logo for Skydance Animation. Most recently, she composed the score for Angel Studios theatrical romantic comedy Solo Mio (2026), starring Kevin James.
Born in Malaysia, Joy first gained recognition Blush (2021) (Apple TV+), Skydance Animation's debut short, which earned her the Best Music Award from the Hollywood Music in Media Awards and her first Annie nomination. A 2024 BAFTA Breakthrough USA honoree, she was also selected for the NBCUniversal Composers Initiative and featured in Apple Southeast Asia's Here's to the Dreamers 2025 campaign spotlighting creative talents across the region. Joy serves on the Member Engagement Committee of the Recording Academy's Los Angeles Chapter.
Her other credits include Monkeypaw Production's The Pigs Underneath (2025), Netflix/CBS's Glamorous (2023), Mattel/Netflix's Barbie Mysteries (2024), Walt Disney Animation's Jing Hua (2020) and Netflix's Rescued by Ruby (2022).
