She also co-founded Swain Destinations, a travel company specializing in customized experiences to Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific, Africa and Asia with her husband; Ian, established in 1987.

Her most recent travel series, Tapping IN: The Happiest People and Places explores the various ways people find happiness around the world. These hour-long episodes were syndicated in over 80% of the U.S. television market on major network stations between 2015 and received a Daytime Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Travel Program in 2015. Swain leveraged her three decades of access to some of the most intriguing people and exotic places through Swain Destinations for Tapping IN featuring locations in exotic places like India, Australia, New Zealand, Africa but also including U.S cities like Monterrey, Memphis and Philadelphia. An international distribution deal for Tapping IN was signed in 2018.

Swain entered the broadcast world in 2002 when their youngest of six children was ten years old by creating a series called, Moms on the Move, for the NBC affiliate in Philadelphia. From 2002-2006 she showcased inspiring stories about amazing mothers for which she received Mid Atlantic Emmy Awards for Outstanding Program Feature and Best Show Host.

She went on to produce a series of half hour Moms on the Move shows that were taped at QVC studios with a LIVE audience that aired in syndication across the United States through Scripps network.

Also, a musician and songwriter, Swain was the executive producer of the IMAX signature movie, Home of Freedom, which played at the Franklin Institute's IMAX theater between 2002-2007. The movie was based on an anthem for the city that was composed by Swain and produced by D4 Creative group called, The Philadelphia Song. The song was also used to promote tourism to the historic city and accompanied the city's New Year's Eve fireworks.
