Aury Barnett is a Toronto-based actor, writer and musician with small town roots and big city dreams. His professional acting career began in early 2013, when he made the jump from a decade-long construction career to pursue a life-long goal in acting and performing. And what a ride it's been...
Aury has appeared in a wide variety of films and TV series over the years. Most notably joining the cast of Amazon Prime's Reacher as Karns, in the hit show's third season. Aury isn't a stranger to suspense-thrillers either. You can catch him on Lifetime as the friendly-firefighter Rick in Playing With Fire, as well as The Boarding School Murders as the shifty-eyed Friedrich - perhaps giving him the nudge to enter his villain era.
While not formally trained, Aury has been diving in for over a decade; studying the Meisner technique, method and scene work and improv at The Second City, to name a few. He's worked closely with on-set stunt coordinators, weapons technicians, and stage combat artists. He is constantly and consistently honing his craft.
Among other things, Aury is also a skilled athlete. He's been playing hockey since the age of three, played baseball as a star third basemen, and can swing a golf club like a pro. Other sports include tennis, basketball, volleyball, snowboarding and pretty much everything else. Aury is currently portraying the legendary Gordie Howe in the film Little Big Shot, playing exclusively at the Hockey Hall of Fame - fulfilling two dreams simultaneously.
