Jeff Fan(II)

Jeff Fan is a filmmaker and writer at Columbia University interested in how stories can function in coalition with political and economic forces to motivate action, nurture empathy, and envision collective futures, particularly in immigrant and global frameworks. His past films have been recognized by President Obama and screened at the White House, French Embassy, Seoul International Youth Film Festival, and CINE Golden Eagle Awards. As a member of the Mendelson Center for Undergraduate Business Initiatives at Columbia Business School, he also focuses on how transmedia franchising can amplify the impact of stories. Presently, he is authoring a sci-fi novel series about artificial intelligence and an ensemble of young activists whose different ideas about what makes a better world raise questions about our nature and the arc of progress.
