He grew up in Washington Township, New Jersey all of his life the son of a Patricia Ford, an oncologist and Phillip Ford, an air law attorney. He was drawn to theater at a young age and performed every year at Americans first and oldest theater, the Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia. After high school he studied acting and music in Miami, Florida before moving to Los Angeles to work in film and television.
