  • John was born in 1987 in Birmingham, AL and grew up in Cullman, AL with his parents Carole and Roy Williams, Jr., and two sisters. He was the recipient of the Rotary Club good citizenship award at his elementary school in 1999. John got SCUBA certified through NAUI at twelve years old where he and his mother logged most of their dive time in the Pensacola, FL area. John graduated Cullman High School in 2006, and studied Media Communications at Asbury College, where his studies emphasized TV Production and Multimedia Design; in 2008 he left Asbury and transferred to Belmont University where he minored in video production and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Audio Engineering Technology in 2010. During his studies at Asbury he learned to play the upright bass, was a member of the jazz band and Jessamine Community Jazz band, participated in TV production of campus sports and student films for the 2008 Apple Insomnia 24hr festival and Asbury's Highbridge Film Festival. While at Belmont, John worked on his cooking skills, learned to edit analog tape and engineer recording sessions at RCA Studio B and Oceanway Nashville studios, and learned the basics of electronics and circuit theory as well as the applications for audio amplifier design. During 2011, John worked for Hummingbird Productions as their studio manager/staff engineer where he mixed commercials and PSA's. Since 2012, John has been working as a freelance audio engineer providing a variety of services. John won Best Sound Design for his work on the 2015 Nashville 54-Hour Film Festival entry titled The Family Keel.
