Biography

Cameron Penn is an English and Spanish speaking filmmaker, best known as a producer for MrBeast. Penn has produced videos that have amassed over a billion views collectively. Cameron also executive produced the Sony Pictures Television & Oxygen True Crime documentary, Married to El Chapo, now streaming on Peacock. To develop the documentary, Penn spent years interviewing El Chapo’s Wife and researching her husband’s cartel. In addition to producing, Penn has also written and sold an original scripted series to Paramount Plus. And his other projects have screened at several Oscar Qualifying Film Festivals, including Tribeca, HollyShorts, the Austin Film Festival, the Rhode Island Film Festival, and the St. Louis International Film Festival.

Growing up, Cameron began his first foray into the entertainment world as a magician, where he got his start performing for retirement homes. During high school, he transitioned to theatre where he performed in and directed various plays and scenes at regional theatre competitions. In 2014, he was nominated for a National Youth Arts Award and in 2015 he won 1st place at the Drama Teachers' Association of Southern California Shakespeare Festival. Past winners include Sally Field, JJ Abrams, Jason Bateman, and Nicolas Cage.

Penn wrote and directed a pilot entitled 'The Roommates,' which stars Golden Globe Winner Barry Bostwick, Oscar Nominee Bruce Davison, and Martin Kove from Cobra Kai and Karate Kid. The Roommates won the Late-Night Audience Award at SeriesFest, 2025. While making acclaimed projects, Penn has also worked for top studios including MRC and Legendary Entertainment. He also worked on season 4 of the hit Freeform/ Hulu series, Good Trouble. In 2019, Penn graduated magna cum laude from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. He has also served as a mentor to college students through Academy Gold, a selective career advancement program offered by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
