Biography

Kieran Bourne is a British-Guyanese award winning filmmaker who has written and/ or directed BAFTA and Oscar qualifying short films including ‘Poles’ and ‘I Am Pilate’.

He was part of the prestigious Film London Microwave class of 2016/17 with his feature screenplay for ‘Beneath the Mind.’ A class that included Kate Herron (‘Loki’), Alice Seabright (‘Amadeus’), Douglas Cox (‘Host’), Alex Winkler (‘Mary & George’), Georgia Parris (‘Tom Jones’), Marley Morrison (‘Tell Me Everything’), Merlin Merton (‘The Beast Within’), Emma Duffy (‘Starve Acre’), Briony Redman (‘Doctor Who’) and Michelle Antoniades (‘Sweetheart’).

In 2018 he began his collaboration with actress and Producer Oriane Pick of Candid Broads Productions starting with the psychological thriller ‘Say Your Name’. Their collaboration includes the award winning web series ‘Call It a Day’, the aforementioned ‘Poles’ and most recently the dark dramedy short ‘Now’s Your Time’.

In 2022 and 2023, respectively, he directed the plays ‘Uncle Vanya’ for the Old Red Lion Theatre and ‘Savannah’ for the Union Theatre starring Olivier Award nominee Jamael Westman ('Hamilton').

As a filmmaker, it is his desire to bring back the enjoyment of cinematic storytelling through the theatrical experience while continuing to challenge narrative and genre expectations through challenging yet relatable characters. Bourne’s latest project is his debut feature film ‘Arthur & Clara’ starring CJ Beckford ('Blitz') and Mirren Mack ('A Tale of Two Cities').
