Biography

After classical and musical studies (piano, blues guitar) he graduated in Economics. He met the Odin Teatret in Denmark and studied in a post-graduation degree at the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil); since 2003 he attended several workshops between Italy, Denmark and Brazil and he decided to work as a professional actor and director in theatre. In parallel, he continued his musical formation by studying with Giovanna Marini oral traditional songs and playing lead guitar and vocal with "Gli Zii di Hendrix" (Jimi Hendrix's cover band) and with "The Dead Flowers" (Rolling Stones c.b.). In theatre he studied with Dario Fo, Franca Rame, Jean-Paul Denizon (Peter Brook's assistant for many years) and actors from Eugenio Barba's Odin Teatret. He writes, acts and performs in several shows and international Tours. He founded in 2006 the "Groucho Teatro" theatrical company, in Rome, and he is right now artistic co-director with Mara Calcagni. With Groucho Teatro he produced different performances, as actor and director such as Prometeo in Blues, Brecht in Babylon, King Lear, Hamlet, Appia and many projects and leading workshops. In 2014 he founded the Groucho Cinema srl, a production company of cine movies (production and post-production), in Rome, whose he is the administrator. He filmed documentations of many musical encounters (Lega di Cultura di Piadena - 2015-2018); directed, filmed and edited the short length "A civil choose against the hazard games" and directed and acted a part of "Seconds" with Paola Randi, presented at Rome Web Festival (2015). Il Mondo Magico (The magic world) is his first feature-length, for whom he gained a Platinum remi award at Houston WorldFest 49th ed.; a best directing merit award at Rome Web Award. It has been realized Internationally by Under the Milky Way Ltd. In 2019 he produced "Tradimenti e magie" (Betrayals and magic), a short movie based on a true story, whose he is co-writer, director and main actor. He produced, directed and acted-in the feature-length "Due donne al di là della legge" (Two women over the law), 90', period drama, Who gained several international awards. His movies gained the award of "Film d'Essai" from the Italian Minister of Culture. Nowadays he is working on a feature film and Series called "Astrodetective", based on the book "Le tre caravelle - in un mare di guai".
