Karla Garrido(II)

Karla Garrido is a Mexican actress with roots from Tlaxcala and Mexico City. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Acting from the National School of Theater (National Institute of Fine Arts) in Mexico City. With a rich and versatile career, she has worked in film, short films, TV series, advertising campaigns, and theater, performing on stages around the world at various festivals. Her filmography includes 9 feature films and more than 15 short films, earning her recognition such as a Best Actress award at the San Luis Festival for her role in Jonás, María, Jonás and a nomination for Best Actress at the 2016 AMCI Awards for her work in Juan Machete.

In television, she has showcased her interpretive versatility in series such as El último Rey, where she brought the iconic "India María" to life. She further honed her comedic skills with the actor's company at the Grand Oasis Hotel in Cancun, Mexico, under the mentorship of Joan Gracia from the Tricicle Company of Barcelona, Spain.

Her physical training spans contemporary dance, basic acrobatics, pantomime, scenic combat, improvisation, and horseback riding, which enhances her ability to take on diverse roles with depth and energy. One of her most recent achievements is her participation in the Mexican film Sujo (2024), directed by Fernanda Valadez and Astrid Rondero. The film received the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in the World Cinema Dramatic category and has been nominated in 10 festivals worldwide, winning awards in San Sebastián and the Morelia Film Festival. Sujo was also Mexico's representative film for the 2025 Oscar and Goya Awards.

Karla Garrido continues to solidify her career as a versatile and committed actress in both cinema and theater, nationally and internationally. You can enjoy her performance as Violeta in the Apple TV series Las azules, and in 2025, she will appear in the Disney series Quebranto.
