Shirley H. Jule

Shirley Jule (Xiaojun Zhu) received the Silver Prize in the National High School Short Film Competition in China for "Nine Doors" (2010) and was twice selected as a top 5 writer for her shorts "Sword" and "Hollow Mountain" in different seasons of the China National A90 Novel Writing Competition (2012). She was also a recipient of the "Santa Monica College Global Citizenship" award for her photography documentary entitled "Malaysia Missing Flight" (2014). Shirley left her country when she was 18y/o in the hopes of pursuing greater artistic freedom, in contrast to the creative restrictions she faced back home in China. She currently studies at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts working towards a degree in Film & Television Production, with a focus on producing.
