Shelby Hougui is an Emmy & Peabody Award-Winning Editor and Post-Producer with a creative focus in documentary and verité storytelling. She is best known for her work on the National Geographic documentary series "Photographer" (2024), in which she won a Peabody Award in the Arts & the 2025 "Outstanding Nature Documentary" News & Documentary Emmy.
Based in New York, Shelby attended the School of Visual Arts, and then began her career on season two of the Showtime series "The Trade" (2019), which was then followed by her work on "Becoming Cousteau" (2021), "The First Wave" (2021) and "Edge of the Unknown with Jimmy Chin" (2022). Since then, she has had the honor of working with the 2024 Vital Voices Global Leadership Awards - creating short films to highlight the achievements of various women leaders around the globe, as well as working on the 2025 commercial campaign for the Humans of NY "Dear New York" exhibit in Grand Central Terminal.
