    6′ 3″ (1.91 m)

Biography

  • Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Miles began working professionally as a drummer in high school with the live hip hop group 'The Earthlings,' opening for big touring acts - including LL Cool J, The Roots, ODB, De La Soul, Hieroglyphics, and KRS One. He moved to New York to pursue a jazz performance degree at NYU, which led to work as a drummer in numerous bands including the Arturo O'Farrill Latin Jazz Orchestra, Sandra Bernhard, Neil Diamond, The Pierces, and a countless number of rock bands at the height of the Williamsburg electroclash / indie sleaze era. He went back to school to pursue a degree in audio engineering from the Clive Davis school at NYU. From there, he pivoted toward composition for TV and advertising, having been first exposed to the musical niche via session work as a drummer. He moved to Los Angeles to further his composing career, eventually landing at Jingle Punks Music as 'Senior Producer and Composer' for over a decade. The role afforded him a huge amount of room to grow creatively, including everything from pitching creative briefs to clients, end to end project management, music licensing, SAG and AFM contract negotiation, managing staff composers, and vetting new hires - in addition to composing 300-500 cues annually on average. during the pandemic, he returned to school to pursue a film scoring degree at UCLA. and has recently returned to performing with Perception Records recording artist Fischer King. In 2024, he joined Engine One Music as Music Supervisor and Creative Director, continuing his work with music in sync for TV, film, and advertising.
