  • Originally from Cork, Damian O'Callaghan has lived in Killarney for the past 24 years. He first worked as a Jarvey in The Killarney National Park. Damian trained as a actor at The Bricriú Theatre Company alongside Donal Courtney and Michael Fassbender. In 1991, he wrote his first play "Tradition" for The Bricriú theatre company, which he directed and starred in. He set up OC Productions and wrote and directed the play 'Let's be Frank', which was shown in the Síamsa Tíre National Theatre. Making the move from stage to screen, he then produced the short film 'Bouncers', which was in the official selection of The Cork and Kerry film festivals. The Gift' Damian's debut feature film headlined The Kerry Film Festival before it was released in cinemas nationwide in April 2017. It was then screened on RTE in 2018. In 2019 He produced & Directed his second feature film Tradition which tells the story of a District court Judge who on his last days on the bench finds himself presiding over the most controversial case his court and his town has ever seen. Tradition won best feature film at The Wexford film festival and debut to critical acclaim at The Chicago Film Festival after it was runner-up at The Kerry Film Festival. Damian is currently developing a number of projects which are scheduled for production in 2020.
