Mini bio

  • Chris J.P. Brown was born in Creve Couer, Missouri, but grew up in Chesterfield, Missouri. He started his acting career while attending the University of Missouri, Columbia. While attending college, Brown served as a TV news reporter for KOMU 8 News, the NBC affiliate in mid-Missouri. In May 2016, he earned a Bachelor's of Journalism degree, with an emphasis in Radio & Television.

Brown signed with Images Agency Models & Actors in St. Louis immediately following graduation. After starring and creating almost 30 short film projects during his undergrad, Brown wanted to get involved with other people's projects. He started working on a variety of gigs, including dinner theatre, commercials, independent films, independent web-series', and even being an extra for TV shows such as Patriot, Empire, The Exorcist, and A.P.B.

Brown took his first formal acting class while attending Mizzou. In addition to acting, Brown has skills in writing, directing, editing, producing, and performing voice-overs. In high school, Brown played football and ran track all four years for both sports. While in college, Brown joined Mizzou's official Tae Kwon Do club where he studied martial arts for three years.

While already having years of professional acting experience, Brown can still be considered, "fresh talent." He is interested in both comedy and drama. His focus is feature films, but he is open to television if the role is right.

Trivia

  • Three months following his audition for Power Rangers Dino Charge (TV Series), Brown got offered to act and model for actor Austin St. John, who starred as Jason Lee Scott, the original Red Ranger and first leader of the Power Rangers in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (TV Series). St. John also starred as Jason Lee Scott, the Gold Ranger in Power Rangers Zeo (TV Series). After signing an official modeling release, Brown got to work right away. He modeled many t-shirts for St. John's online store. In addition, Brown starred and produced three short films (AustinStJohn.Us Home Page Video, The Legend Lives in You: Red, and The Legend Lives in You: Gold) for both St. John's online store and St. John's social media. Through Galactic Productions, LLC, St. John signed an exclusive advertising contract circa November 2014, thus ending Brown's services. Today, Brown and St. John still enjoy seeing each other and catching up at conventions when time allows.
  • When Brown was born, his parents named him Christopher, because it was the only name they could agree on. While he was growing up, Brown's parents revealed he was also partially named after the A.A. Milne character Christopher Robin, the young boy and best friend to Winnie-the-Pooh.
  • Brown's full name is Christopher James Patrick Brown. His two middle names are also names of two USS Enterprise captains in the Star Trek franchise. James for James T. Kirk, played by William Shatner (Star Trek: The Original Series), and Patrick for actor Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: The Next Generation) who played Jean-Luc Picard.
  • Brown auditioned for Power Rangers Megaforce (TV Series) at age 19. This became Brown's first ever professional casting call. He read for the lead role of the Sixth Ranger. Actor Cameron Jebo won the part, but Brown and casting kept in close touch following auditions. At age 20, Brown auditioned for Power Rangers Dino Charge (TV Series). He impressed both casting and executive producer Judd Lynn "Chip" during his second casting call for the show. Despite good reading, exceptional skills, and good personality, actor Brennan Mejia got the lead role for the Red Ranger.
  • Brown's favorite baseball team is the St. Louis Cardinals. Following the Cardinals, Brown's favorite teams include the San Francisco Giants, in honor of his father's birthplace, and the New York Yankees, in honor of his grandmother's birthplace.
