It earned Best Short Film at the InterShort Online Film Awards and was recognized by festivals including Los Angeles CineFest, the Miami Independent Film Festival, the Mac Horror Film Festival, the Visionaria International Film Festival, the Barcelona Planet Film Festival, the Blackbird Film Festival, and the Cyprus International Film Festival’s Golden Aphrodite Awards. It also received finalist recognition at the IndieWise Film Festival and Convention in Miami.

As a screenwriter, El Khalidy develops ambitious stories centered on identity, reinvention, rebellion, cultural tension, and individuals navigating dangerous or unfamiliar worlds. His screenplays Jukebox Zero and Just Like You Imagined have received international selections, nominations, and distinctions from the Chicago Horror Film Festival, Los Angeles CineFest, the US Hollywood International Golden Film Awards, and the International Open Film Festival.

In 2024, Just Like You Imagined received a nomination at the WideScreen Film & Music Video Festival in Toronto, further strengthening his profile as a screenwriter with an international and visually driven approach to storytelling.

He is also the creator of The Arab Stuntmen, an international documentary series exploring the overlooked history, craft, and legacy of Arab stunt performers in global cinema. The project reached a major development milestone after being optioned by the Paris-based production company Special Touch Studios, led by producer Sébastien Onomo.

The series reflects El Khalidy’s wider interest in action cinema, untold film history, and the artists whose work has helped shape major productions while often remaining outside the spotlight.

As an author, El Khalidy wrote Les Riffs d’un Moroccan Rebel, a literary work exploring artistic rebellion, identity, ambition, cultural duality, and the desire to create a life beyond conventional boundaries. His television appearances, including a prime-time interview with journalist Ouadih Dada, have revealed a public persona that is thoughtful, independent, candid, and deeply connected to cinema, literature, music, and contemporary culture.
