Johnny Rome (a non-binary, Korean-American filmmaker) is focused on creating and developing stories that have the potential to help someone feel less alone ( as movies did for them in their early teenage years). This unwavering mission statement reigns true throughout their filmography, whether writing and directing award-winning dramatic shorts (Here Lies Lauren (2020)) or producing others' projects promoting underrepresented communities. Driven by their passion, Rome has found a way to bring all their most necessary stories to life, even when the odds are against them (notably Cardboard Castles (2024)). Rome's status has evolved over 2021, with a growing online presence of 140k+ TikTok followers assuring their initial mission statement stays intact. Armed with unabashed honesty and a whimsical worldview, Rome's presence becomes more and more known as they head into production on their highly-anticipated web series, "Clemmons & Clementine" (????).
