Biography

Marei Annis is a German writer, producer and actress and co-founder of the international independent production company "AVA - All Visions Align".

Raised in rural Germany, she soon moved on from local theater productions to bigger stages and a more international approach. She has lived and worked in Berlin and London on various short- and feature film productions - "Your Move (2015)" with Bruce Langley and "Intruder (2018)" with Sandra De Sousa being the most recent successes.

Marei has studied with a variety of international teachers, such as Hollywood coach Bernard Hiller and actress Lisa Peschia. Her fields of expertise also cover dancing and singing, which led her to be recruited by London-based rock band TurboWitch as lead singer in 2016.

2017 has her expanding her reach even further, across the borders of Europe and returning to the stage after several years of solely focusing on her film career in her first ever autobiographical work: "Confessions of a Fangirl".

Marei directed her first film at age 9, borrowing her father's video camera and ordering her elementary school pals to act out a script she had written in her family's back garden. By age 18 she was well known for constantly sneaking off the school premises to take calls from sponsors and secretly writing production schedules under her desk in math class. Today she deeply regrets her lack of mathematical talent, without a doubt caused by this early life choice.

Marei's biggest influences in her acting are Australian Sci-Fi star Claudia Black and silver screen legend Ava Gardner. The latter even inspired the name of Marei's production company "AVA - All Visions Align".

Marei quotes playing video games as her only hobby. Everything else she enjoys is somehow part of her career. She is particularly obsessed with Bioware's "Mass Effect" and "Dragon Age" series and Squaresoft's "Final Fantasy IX".

Marei passionately supports house Lannister. She may or may not be in possession of a Cersei doll that has been sighted in her presence even in public on various occasions.

Marei's preferred language is English, even though she was born and raised in Germany. She also speaks French and some Japanese.
