Biography

Amber Bournett is an Atlanta-based cinematographer and IATSE Local 600 camera operator whose work bridges studio-scale filmmaking with intimate visual storytelling. After years operating cameras alongside some of the industry’s leading cinematographers on productions for Disney, HBO, Hulu, Amazon, Peacock, and Warner Bros., she has developed a visual approach rooted in precision, movement, and emotionally driven imagery. A graduate of Georgia State University’s Film & Video program and a fellow of the AFI Cinematography Intensive for Women, Amber combines the technical discipline of large-scale productions with the instincts of an independent filmmaker. Whether photographing narrative films, documentaries, or music-driven projects, she is drawn to stories that explore identity, family, resilience, and speculative worlds through bold, cinematic images. As both a mixed-media artist and filmmaker, Amber approaches every frame as an opportunity to create atmosphere and emotional connection. Her years operating complex camera systems - from handheld and Steadicam support to cranes and vehicle work - have given her an intuitive understanding of movement, collaboration, and visual rhythm, informing a cinematography style that is both technically sophisticated and deeply human.
