Biography

Rajiv, Born in India and currently based in South Africa, started his career as a Mechanical Engineer and went on to do Post Graduate work in Advanced Computing at CDAC. After a successful IT career, Rajiv ventured into Film Production & Distribution in South Africa, and has now expanded his reach with Golden Mountain Films in the USA.

Rajiv's passion for film production is evident in his dedication to learning the craft. His main objective is to produce films that inspire and deliver a meaningful message.

Rajiv's production company Utkarsh Entertainment has already achieved significant success with two inspired-by true event feature films, Free State and The Last Victims. Free State was accepted into 17 International Film Festivals, winning four awards and receiving five nominations. The Last Victims went into 30 International Film Festivals, winning 20 awards and receiving 10 nominations. Rajiv wrote the story, edited The Last Victims and produced both films.

In addition to his feature films, Rajiv has written, directed, and produced a few short films that have received recognition at film festivals worldwide. He has also produced a travel show in South Africa for ABP Maza TV channel in India. Rajiv's contribution to the film industry extends beyond his own productions. He has successfully executed many International Film Festivals in South Africa and has trained over 550 youth in filmmaking for free, providing them with opportunities to work on his productions. He has also sponsored three South Africans to attend Whistling Woods International and receive six months of Scholarship in film making.

Beyond his artistic achievements, Rajiv is a cultural bridge, championing the promotion of Indian films in Africa since 2010. His extensive engagement in film festivals, including programming for the 43rd Durban International Film Festival, showcases his dedication to fostering international cinematic connections.

Rajiv has also taken on roles, serving as a Board Member for PESP in South Africa and contributing as a panel member for the National Film & Video Foundation. His presence on juries for South African Film & Television Awards and Lift-off Network Festivals, underscores his influence in shaping the industry.
