Christine H. McConnell is famous for her creepy DIY creations. She taught herself photography and managed to make a profession of it. Meanwhile she schooled herself in other disciplines, such as baking and clothing design, all the while staging her own photo shoots of her creations. She developed a web presence for herself, largely based around her Instagram account. She has a reputation for her creepy aesthetic which owes much to her influences, some of which she lists as: Tim Burton, The Munsters, The Addams Family, and Tales from the Crypt, among others. Within a few years she began to attract the interest of numerous publishing and production companies. Many offers for reality TV shows were rejected before a producer pitched the idea of a collaboration with the Jim Henson Company. The resulting show 'The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell' found it's home on Netflix, and premiered in time for the Halloween season of 2018.

I was really moved by that scene in Edward Scissorhands where this inventor is making these cookies that are actually pretty benign, but he&#39;s making them in this weird, spooky, cool factory. I just loved the combination of the creepiness and having a sweet dessert. And I&#39;m kind of a sugar addict. I love things that are morbid. It&#39;s just the most fun combination I can think of.
