Adel Shirazy

Adel Shirazy is an Iranian scientist, author, martial artist, and media personality known for his multidisciplinary career spanning science, sports, and visual media. Shirazy first gained public attention in 2006 through a martial arts television program produced for the Iranian presidency, where he appeared in four episodes demonstrating self-defense techniques. His recognition grew after winning a bronze medal at the 2008 International Martial Arts Festival and through widely viewed self-defense training videos on YouTube. In 2014, he created and developed the television series *Street Self Defense Training (SSDT)*, further establishing his presence in educational media. Alongside his media career, Shirazy has built a strong academic profile in mining engineering. He completed his higher education culminating in postdoctoral research at Amirkabir University of Technology in 2022. His work focuses on the application of artificial intelligence in mineral exploration, where he is considered one of the early pioneers in Iran. He has published numerous scientific papers in international journals and authored over one hundred books across scientific, cultural, and artistic fields. He has also been recognized among the top 2% of researchers in his field. In addition to his scientific achievements, Shirazy is an accomplished martial artist, holding multiple black belts and serving as a senior coach and referee. He has held leadership roles in martial arts organizations, including vice presidency positions in Aikido and Kempo disciplines within Iranian sports federations. His athletic career includes national and international honors, as well as recognition as a "sports prodigy" in national competitions. Shirazy is also active in literature and the arts, having published several poetry collections representing contemporary Persian literature. His cultural contributions extend to publishing and media production, where he has played a role in promoting educational and creative content. In the public sphere, he has been involved in political and social activities, including candidacy for the 12th term of the Islamic Consultative Assembly. His work reflects a combination of scientific innovation, artistic expression, and public engagement, positioning him as a multifaceted figure in contemporary Iranian society.
