Biography

Daniela Pinto is a Toronto-based composer for film, television, and video games. Her music is known for its bold melodies and evocative soundscapes that transcend genre and transport audiences to new worlds. She composed a dark and brooding hybrid orchestral score for the short film "Diaspora" (dir. Tyler Mckenzie Evans), which premiered at TIFF 2022 and earned her a Canadian Screen Music Award nomination. She also scored "Cold" (dir. Liz Whitmere), an unsettling menopause-themed body horror film starring Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp) and nominated for Best Short in the 2024 DGC Awards. Most recently, Daniela wrote the original score for the television series "Potluck Ladies" (dir. Shazia Javed), which won Best Drama at the SeriesFest Independent Pilot Competition in Denver.

Daniela is also an accomplished sound editor and sound designer. She has been part of the sound teams of major feature films and TV series such as "Crimes of the Future" (dir. David Cronenberg), "Sort Of" (CBC), "Moonhaven" (AMC+), and "Into the Rising Sun" (Amazon Prime). She has worked as both a dialogue editor and sound designer on video games such as "Bendy and the Dark Revival," "Rollers of the Realm: Reunion," and "Rocket Rumble." In 2021, she was selected as one of six participants by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television for their competitive "Women in Post" talent development program. As a composer fluent in the workflows and tools of post production audio, she brings both creative vision and technical problem-solving skills to every project she works on.
