Holloway (2024)
Daisy-May began her filmmaking career unconventionally after she began filming her and her family's experiences of homelessness whilst living in a hostel in 2013. Her debut feature documentary Half Way was BIFA and Grierson nominated for Best Cinema Documentary. With the critical acclaim of Half Way, Daisy-May was awarded BAFTA Breakthrough where she met Parkville Pictures. She began writing her first scripted feature, Lollipop with BBC and BFI- a film created with and about the power of sisterhood and our capacity for joy even in the hardest times. The film was a powerful process of alchemy with much of the cast coming from the lived experience the film depicts. During the making of Lollipop, Daisy-May co-directed her second feature documentary Holloway exploring similar themes which recently won the Audience Award for Best Feature Documentary at BFI's London Film Festival.

Through filming her own homeless experience, she experienced first-hand the transformative power of storytelling to turn our pain into medicine and has since committed her career to telling stories that are raw, honest and have a whole lot of heart ensuring love and integrity are the foundation of the process both on and off screen. Daisy-May has since trained in ancient healing modalities, emotional processing and energy work and weaves all this love and magic into the creation of her films. She continues to be passionate about both fiction and documentary as well as the profound capacity film has for healing. She is dedicated to changing the culture around filmmaking to a place of shared vulnerability, connection and heart-centred storytelling. Both Holloway and Lollipop were trauma-informed productions.

Daisy-May is excitingly writing her second feature fiction in collaboration with Parkville Pictures and BBC Films.
