Angelo Minoli is an Italian actor, musician, singer- songwriter, producer.
Born on 1st March 1973 in Chiavari a seaside town close to Genova, Italy, he happily grew up with his family, following his passions: animals (dogs and horses) and music. Music Career : When he was a teenager, Minoli started playing the piano but soon he embraced the guitar. He formed his first band when he was studying at the High School playing live covers of the rock bands of the 70s such as Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi , Led Zeppelin ,among many others.
In 1992 Minoli joined a local band 'Rattle Rattle' as a singer and guitarist, achieving remarkable results : in 1994 they were invited to a live performance on Rai2, the Italian national public broadcasting company and again in 1995 on Rai3. The band performed a tribute to Van Halen and David Lee Roth in 2006 at the Master of Rock Festival in Germany, gaining the appreciation of the critics. Meanwhile Minoli started a hard rock solo career, composing his own songs. In 2006 he recorded a demo -CD 'Angelo Minoli' which got good responses in the national music magazines. Rock Hard magazine defined Minoli a 'top class rocker' and Metal Maniac described his music as a good American rock interpreted with a full bodied , confident voice.
In 2008 he was the frontman of a band bearing his name in the annual American 3-day hard rock Rocklahoma Festival in Oklahoma , USA. In the same year he signed a contract with the American Record Company Chavis Records and released his first album 'Living in Memphis'. In 2012 Angelo Minoli performed as a singer and guitarist in a live concert with Ian Paice ,the world famous Deep Purple drummer, playing songs from the' Living in Memphis' album.
Acting Career : Acting is Angelo Minoli's second passion.
In 2009 he started attending drama courses held by the actress and director Mercedes Martini. In the following years 2009-2017 he acted in different roles in both classical and modern plays. In 2013 he auditioned for the successful ' Romeo e Giuli etta - Ama e cambia il mondo' musical produced by David Zard. Minoli interpreted the Prince of Verona. The show was performed at the Arena in Verona and broadcast live on Rai2.
Moreover he appeared on several popular Tv series : ' Storie Maledette'(2013) directed by Fabio Vannini , 'La Vendetta della IX (2016), 'Hope (2016) in which he was also the soundtrack co-composer.
He was the protagonist in some short films directed by Nicola Bozzo, a young talented filmmaker , such as 'To my horse (2015), 'Intimo segreto amore (2017) inspired by the homonymous Shakespeare's sonnet and 'Under the dust' (2018).
'Under the Dust' produced by Prospettive Parallele, is a docu-film about India where the physical journey becomes metaphor of an interior research.
Minoli had also the leading role in the short film 'Il letto' inspired by the homonymous play by Giuseppe Manfridi, starring the actress Silvia Budri.
Minoli also appeared in several adverts : Fiat Abarth (2015), Nestle (2016), Wurth (2016), regione Liguria promotion (2016) Old Wild West and Coca Cola (2017), Bic (2018).
In 2018 he was selected for the fantasy film 'Creators : the past', directed by Piergiuseppe Zaia and interpreted by a cast of international stars including Gèrard Depardieu, Bruce Payne and William Shatner. In the film, Minoli recited in English. Since 2017/2018 he has been playing the important role of Ulysses in 'La Divina Commedia' Opera Musical directed by Andrea Ortis, gaining the appreciation of the critics and of the public. The musical has been performed for three consecutive seasons in the best known theatres all over Italy and eventually been paused because of the Covid 19 emergency in February 2020.
In 2019/2020 Minoli interpreted the successful webseries 'The Walking Dad' conceived and produced by himself together with Nicola Bozzo (Director). This digital , innovative series of short video clips produced by Prospettive Parallele, features the story of a 'zombie hunter' . The hunting which is set in a fantasy world becomes the opportunity to reflect upon important life issues. Co-protagonist in the story is Leonardo, Minoli's 9-year-old son who has revealed a very good attitude in acting. The production has stated their intent to continue further development of the series.
Angelo Minoli's dual career goes on , he is presently playing with his own acclaimed band performing both rock covers and songs composed by himself with lyrics in English, and in the near future he is going to release his new and much awaited album: 'You don't know me'.
