Biography

Catalina makes choreographed films and experimental musicals. Her feature-length documentary "Sound Spring" (2025) follows residents as they re-enact recorded stories of the history of Yellow Springs, a village in Ohio. Her bilingual collection of short "screen plays"-short films in written form-"Vagaries" is published by Edições da Ruína (Lisbon). She has held fellowships and residencies at the Flaherty Seminar, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Rooftop Films, Flux Factory, and the Wexner Center for the Arts. Her films have screened at festivals including Slamdance, Fantastic Fest, New Orleans, and Palm Springs, and at venues such as ICA Philadelphia, the San Diego Art Institute, and the Museum of the Moving Image. Raised in a bilingual Spanish-English household, Catalina has taught in Fordham University's Visual Arts program since 2022, where she leads the Art & Engagement track.
