- Julia directed her first short film, The Late Doctor's Daughter when she was fourteen years old. The film went on to win four awards including Best Group at Fresh Film Festival 2014 and Best Film of the Year by a Filmmaker in a Senior Category at the Cinemagic Film Festival 2013. The film went so far as to be shortlisted in festivals in Poland and Greece.
- Julia's first published work, a poem titled 'I Hate Writing Poems' was printed in The Irish Times in 2013 when she was aged fourteen.
