David-Allen Norton was born in Dallas, Texas and raised in Plano. He began performing at the age of 6 after his mother began taking him to theater camps. He participated in local theater productions and continued to do so until the end of high school. He began working professionally at the age of 9 after he was cast in an equity production as Jem in To Kill a Mockingbird. He then starred in many other professional productions at some of the largest theaters around Dallas, giving him the opportunity to work and learn alongside professionals from around the nation. Around the same time, he signed with a talent agency after being noticed in a casting seminar. David-Allen attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, an arts magnet in the heart of the arts district of Dallas. He has been training in all aspects of performance and acting for the majority of his life and continues to do so, as well as starring in many national/worldwide commercials, industrial films, short films, and independent films. His feature film debut arrived in 2019, with John Swab's Run with the Hunted. David-Allen graduated from Chapman University in 2023, being awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Screen Acting from the performing arts college and Dodge Film school. He is known for his outgoing personality and energy, as well as his deep passion for the arts, film, music, and most media/pop culture.

David-Allen's mother is the vice-president and co-founder of a nonprofit organization based in Plano, Texas. He has traveled to multiple countries, working alongside her in an effort to combat poverty, poor overseas adoption law, and spend time with impoverished families and orphanages.
David-Allen's older brother was adopted from Russia in 1995.
David-Allen's older sister is also a performer, and one of the main reasons he gained an interest in theater at a young age. She is well known for her voiceover talent and is often featured in popular anime's English dubbing.
David-Allen's grandmother was a theater and dance teacher, writing her thesis on dance and teaching all over the world. She inspired her children to engage and even participate in the arts, which is one of the leading factors that led to David-Allen's mother enrolling him and his sister in theater camps at a very young age.
David-Allen is the youngest of three children.
