Quotes

  • After my parents adopted me in Svalyava, we spent some time in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It was just seven years after Independence, and the country was very poor. One day we were eating at a lunch counter when a lady sat beside me. She looked very tired and very hungry. I gave her my sandwich. She cried and cried and thanked me. I remember that moment so well. I know I am to-the-moon lucky, and I hope that I can make a real difference by giving.
