Biography

Working in the Film / TV Industry for over 20 years, Iury Pinto, Director, Editor and Screenwriter, made short films at the New York Film Academy, where he graduated in Film directing in 2014, including "Detectives Should Never Fall in Love". And before that, in 2008, He also graduated in Design and Animation.

Iury worked for 12 years at Globo, the largest commercial TV network in Latin America and the second-largest commercial TV network in the world, behind the American Broadcasting Company. At Globo Iury led the editing of numerous successful projects, including the Tv series "Iron Island" , which was featured in the "best in the world", category by the American magazine "Variety", as well as Tv Series "Old River" and the television film "Alexandre and other heroes", both nominated for Emmy Awards.

At Globo, Iury took part in a unique creative process developed by the channel, which was even researched by several studios around the world. The team of nine editors, led by Iury, produced one 60-minute edited episode a day, which is equivalent to three feature films a week, something practically impossible for the high-quality models of the film industry.

In 2020 Iury left TV Globo to invest in his career as Director and Screenwriter at his production company, Asas Realizações, where he has already carried out several authorial projects, including the film "Masquerade", a medium-length film written, directed and edited by him that received the title of Hors Concours at the Rio Film Festival (largest film festival in Latin America) and collected 29 awards around the world from the national and international film festivals he has attended.

In 2024 Iury is expanding his business by opening his film production company in the United States as well as maintaining his activities as director, screenwriter and editor, getting involved with projects from major studios such as Disney, Netflix, Paramount and Globo.
