Aleksandr Shaganov is a Soviet and Russian poet-songwriter, singer, sound engineer, actor. He and his sister were left without parents early. He was an excellent student at school. In 1987 he graduated from the Moscow Electrotechnical Institute of Communications. He worked as an engineer for telecommunications at Mostelefonstroy. Later he worked as a recording operator at the Zvuk studio and performed in small concerts as a singer.
He became widely known in the second half of the 1980s thanks to the song 'Vladimirskaya Rus' to the music of Dmitriy Varshavskiy of the group 'Chyornyy Kofe' on the wave of interest of the domestic audience in hard rock and heavy metal. The music for many of Shaganov's lyrics was written by his friend, composer Igor Matvienko. They met in the mid-1980s, when Matvienko was just starting to work with Nikolay Rastorguev and creating a band for him. A good lyricist was needed, which is what Aleksandr Shaganov became.
