Biography

Michael Ortiz is a Ukrainian-American 1st Assistant Director, Producer, and Filmmaker based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Kyiv, he graduated valedictorian from the Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television with a degree in Directing and Producing. He began his career at Dovzhenko Film Studios in Kyiv and Mosfilm Studios in Moscow, with additional work at Belarusfilm Studios in Minsk, before spending three years in Bangkok coordinating casting on a 24-episode international television series at Studio Park Bangkok. He relocated to Los Angeles in 2014 and has since worked on over 40 productions spanning features, series, and shorts across six countries. Michael is the founder of MyOrtiz Film. Fluent in English, Ukrainian, and Russian.
