Gottfried Böhm was born on 23 January 1920 in Offenbach am Main, Germany. He was married to Elisabeth Böhm. He died on 9 June 2021 in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
One of Germany's most famous architects, he is the father of three equally famous architects, Paul Böhm, Stephan Böhm and Peter Böhm. His elder brother Paul Böhm has worked as a medical doctor.
