Biography

Nancy Boyd was raised in a small town in Michigan. During her college career at Madonna University, she studied both film and music. Always eager to direct music videos and short films, her work earned her 19 nominations at 7 Student Production Awards from the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences. She has also had the opportunity to be the set photographer for three feature films and two seasons of the internationally syndicated television show, The Dr. Nandi Show.

In her senior year, she wrote and directed her first feature film, Married on a Monday (2017). Throughout the experience, she fell head over heels for directing. After graduation, she continued to direct music videos professionally and continue to work on indie features and television sets in Michigan.

She moved to Los Angeles to pursue an MFA in Film and Television Production at the University of Southern California, which she received in 2023. Before the age of 30 she will have directed three indie features. Nancy took on the role of directing Lady Parts after struggling on her own health journey with a vulvovaginal disorder. It went on to win the Comedy Vanguard Award at Austin Film Festival and the Audience Award at 3 separate festivals! She wishes to continue to make films centered around women accepting all the parts of themselves, especially the parts society isn't ready to accept.
