Sue Pomeroy

Sue Pomeroy, Writer/Director/Producer (Fuschia Films, UK) was Resident Director of the National Theatre in London with Sir Peter Hall and Anthony Hopkins. There she directed and produced her own devised show, I, Bertolt Brecht which went on to tour nationally and internationally. She also directed Orwell's England with Michael Bogdanov for a National Theatre European tour and co-directed Coleridge's The Ancient Mariner for the Olivier Theatre. Sue was Artistic Director of the Warehouse Theatre, Croydon and produced and directed a series of highly acclaimed productions including Moll Flanders by Claire Luckham, Joe Orton's What the Butler Saw and The Dragon by Yevgeny Schwartz. Residencies also include Leicester Phoenix and Haymarket Theatres, Manchester's Contact Theatre, Oldham Coliseum, Young Vic London and Bristol Old Vic. She has directed, produced and written extensively in theatre and broadcast media including the Royal Shakespeare Company's Swan Theatre, the Young Vic and South Bank centre, and toured extensively to No. 1 theatres across the UK including Bath Theatre Royal, London's Richmond Theatre, Brighton Theatre Royal, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Chichester Festival Theatre, Malvern Festival Theatre, Belfast Grand Theatre, Aberdeen His Majesty's Theatre and internationally in Germany, Ireland and India. Broadcast media production includes 'Song of a Bluefoot Man' co-authored with James Berry on BBC Radio 4 with producer Alby James, 'King and Castle' series on London Thames TV, an eighteen month "fly on the wall" Documentary on the Olympic Games titled, 'London 2012 - an inspirational project' and films include 'Rebel with a Cause: Sue, Brecht and the Berlin Wall' and 'In Love with Jane Austen' at Cannes Court Métrange in 2010 and 2014 respectively. She is currently in pre-production (autumn 2014) for the full length feature film, 'Jane Austen - Overcoming Pride & Prejudice' about the life and work of the celebrated novelist, and 'English Girl in Berlin' with funding from Screen South and UK Films. Other films in development include 'Trailblazer' about the Black British composer Samuel Coleridge Taylor, and 'An Amazing Journey', an inspirational new film about two friends, one of whom was Nelson Mandela. Sue is a founder member of the Director's Guild of Great Britain.
