For the last 10 years, Abby has taught improvisation to incarcerated youth at Rikers Island, Cook County Jail, and various other juvenile detention centers and jails in both Chicago and New York. Abby directs both theater and film. Her short film "So, Boom" premiered at San Quentin Film Festival, the first film festival held in a prison and won "Best Narrative Short", it then went on to receive "Special Jury Mention" at Tribeca Film Festival. Her short film "Run It Back" premiered at Tribeca Film Festival through their Vital Stories program.
