Biography

Liane Moonraven is CEO and Executive Producer of Moonraven Films and an award-winning author. Additionally, Moonraven is an experienced FM radio presenter, seasoned podcast host and the Creator/Writer/Director The Carmen Online Theater Group, an award-winning online audio horror theater network. The Carmen group is home to the audio series The Burbs, an all original series based on factual and true events she experienced for 10 years while living in a certain suburb just outside the D.C. Metro area and she insists there is more fact than fiction in the audio horror series. The first episode of The Burbs aired on October 1, 2015.

Moonraven has written, produced and directed several short films and dozens of audio dramas.

Liane is hugely influenced and inspired by Edgar Allan Poe, Alfred Hitchcock, Brahm Stoker and Stephen King and believes she weaves each one of those great author's writing style into her own. She is originally from Washington, D.C. in the U.S. and now lives in Birmingham, UK

Liane is the voice for many characters on the Carmen Network. She frequently peppers her characters with various accents to disguise herself and rarely uses audio filters to altar her natural voice. Some of the various characters from The Burbs Liane has played include: the hospital paging operator, Nurse Taylor, 9-1-1 dispatcher, Coroner Asisstant Amanda Pena, and the Barney's waitress (her personal favorite).

Labeling herself as his protege, Liane credits actor/director Paul Sampson for much of her success. As her friend and mentor, she thrived under his critique and guidance, teaching her how to write scripts. She values his involvement in her career as immeasurable.

Strange things often happen to the cast while recording The Burbs. Including technology problems, equipment failures and disembodied voices showing up on the recordings then not being there on a second pass. It happens so frequently, the cast say they've gotten used to it.

The idea for The Burbs came to Liane when she was describing her very bizarre neighborhood, its goings-on and its dark history while having a conversation with her friend and mentor, actor/director, Paul Sampson. The idea stayed with her and she began penning scripts. She stopped writing for a very short time, however, because she spooked herself. She was still living in the house (that neighborhood) at the time. It wasn't until she moved that she started writing the series again.

In a recent interview, when it was noted The Burbs touts a tagline, "Based on True Events", Liane was asked how true is true. When she stopped trembling, she replied, "It's so true that in one of the episodes when Lisa is researching the area, I took the words directly from the town's website. That's how true it is. I stopped writing the stories just for a little bit after S1 Ep3. I still lived in that house and I had spooked myself out. I set it down for a while. That area is not only evil. It's energetically evil."

In a recent interview, when asked how she finds certain "places" for some of her darker characters, Liane Moonraven responded, "You wouldn't understand. I think women have that special kind of crazy on lock down. A type of crazy that men don't really get. It scares that last drop of pee out of them."

Anyone who openly admits, "I'm an asshole", believe them.
