Valerio Tarricone

Valerio Tarricone is a Lead FX Artist with over 13 years of experience across visual effects and animation for film, television, and commercials. He is currently working at Skydance Animation - Paramount Pictures based in Barcelona on the animated features Swapped and Spellbound for Netflix.
Previously, he was a Senior FX Technical Director at Sony Pictures Imageworks in Vancouver, contributing to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for Marvel Studios. Prior to that, he worked as Senior FX Artist at Cinesite on the animated feature The Addams Family 2 for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
Earlier in his career, Valerio served as Senior FX Technical Director at EDI Effetti Digitali Italiani, working on the historical TV series Romulus for Sky and ITV. He also collaborated with Ingenuity Studios on projects including the music videos Wonder by Shawn Mendes and Rain on Me by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, as well as the series The Good Lord Bird for Showtime and the movie Freaky produced by Blumhouse. During this period, he also worked with Scanline VFX on Godzilla vs. Kong and The Rescue.
Valerio previously held the role of FX Lead at Pixomondo, contributing to major productions including the Apple TV+ series See and For All Mankind, The Orville (Season 2) for FOX, Siren (Seasons 1 & 2) for Freeform, and the feature film A Dog's Way Home for Columbia Pictures. He also worked on Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween and the final season of the HBO series Game of Thrones.
Earlier, Valerio was an FX TD at Double Negative (DNEG) in Vancouver, where he contributed to a number of major films including Blade Runner 2049, The Mummy, The Fate of the Furious, Wonder Woman, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Star Trek Beyond, The Huntsman: Winter's War, and Pacific Rim: Uprising. As part of the VFX team at DNEG, he contributed to Blade Runner 2049, which received the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects at the 90th Academy Awards. Prior to that, he worked at Moving Picture Company in Montréal on Fantastic Four.
Early in his career, he collaborated as a 3D Generalist with Variant Office in London and completed an FX internship at The Brewery VFX, where he worked on fire, smoke, RBD, and cloth simulations for the ITV historical drama The Great Fire.
Valerio holds an MA in Digital Effects (with Merit) from the Bournemouth University National Centre for Computer Animation. He also earned a BA in Graphic Design and Multimedia from LABA Academy of Fine Arts, along with diplomas in 2D/3D Animation from Nemo NT Academy of Digital Arts and Sculpture from AD'A Academy of Art.
