After she began her stage career in England, in 1914, Kyrle Bellew claimed, in press interviews, to have previously acted in films in the USA. No evidence that these statements were true has emerged in the century since they were made.

The family relationship of Violet Falck aka Kyrle Bellew (through her mother, Charlotte Harcourt) with H. Kyrle Bellew and Cosmo Kyrle Bellew is unclear. It is more distant than that publicly supposed when Kyrle Bellew was alive, based on information supplied by her.

This is confirmed by UK GRO DC and UK NPC; at her death her names were given as "Violet Marion Annie Bourchier", "Kyrle Annie Bourchier" and "Violet Marion Beckett". The "Kyrle Bellew" who died on 25 January 1948 was Cosmo Kyrle Bellew, statements that give this earlier date for the death of Kyrle Bellew are either mistaken or deliberately misleading.
