Pedro René Bastidas is a Venezuelan composer, producer, orchestrator, pianist, singer, and sound designer. Working across film, television, advertising, and artist-led music, he is also known for his solo work as Bastian René. His music is marked by a cinematic sensibility that combines orchestral craft, modern production, and emotional storytelling. Across his career, he has contributed music to projects associated with BBC, NBC, Discovery, Warner Bros., Netflix, and Telemundo.
His score for The Decisive Moment received a Hollywood Music in Media Awards nomination, and he later received a Hollywood Music in Media Award for La Querida del Centauro. He also received Suncoast Emmy nominations for May I Help You? and Ellos Están Bien.
Bastidas began his career in visual media as a music editor at Venevisión and later worked as a recording engineer for symphonic orchestras at El Sistema, experiences that shaped his command of orchestral recording and large-scale music production. In 2014, he was selected for the NYU/ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop in New York. His artist work as Bastian René expands that same cinematic language into songs, piano-based pieces, voice, electronics, and more personal sonic worlds.
