Kyle Erwin(1978-2018)

Kyle was the creator and host of Backyard Space Opera, a podcast devoted to independent micro budget science fiction, fantasy and horror filmmaking. He grew up in Arizona, and studied education at Northern Arizona University. He later obtained a masters degree and eventually a doctorate from the University of Southern California. He became an accomplished psychotherapist, primarily working with children and adolescents. His Applied Heroics program used stories of heroes and heroines as a methodology for healing. In 2018, he published his book - Blockbuster Parenting: How Epic Storytelling can Transform your Relationships with Kids and Teens. He was also a stop motion and practical FX artist, puppeteer, and prop fabricator whose work appeared in The Wrath of Ranger X, The Rock Monster of Lingendar (2017), The Order of Amur, and After the Flesh. He passed away on June 29th, 2018 after suffering a major stroke.
